The bagua pattern spending money is a type of "Yansheng money", also known as "Yasheng money". Its origin can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. Since then, it has been cast in successive dynasties, reaching its peak in the Qing Dynasty. From the Han Dynasty to the Ming and Qing dynasties, each dynasty not only cast but also had the situation of successive imitations. The Eight Trigrams originated from the I Ching, embodying the ancient people's understanding of the universe and the laws of nature. They represent natural phenomena such as heaven and earth, thunder, wind, water, fire, mountains, and marshes, embodying the philosophy of complementary Yin and Yang, and symbolizing good fortune, peace, and smoothness. In ancient times, it was believed among the common people that it could ward off evil spirits and protect them. Since the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, when building halls, people would place beams on them to ward off evil spirits and pray for good fortune. It will also be placed when building beams. After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, it was mainly used for witchcraft divination. It can also be used for interior decoration or carried around to pray for warding off evil spirits and bringing good fortune.
