Compare a similar 'Sacred Heart of Jesus', dated from 1875 to 1925, see Donelly,Blanc de Chine. The Porcelain of Têhua in Fukien, pl.356. According to Donelly, the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was made universal in 1856. The Donelly example is derived from an Italian plaster figure.
