Ca. AD 600 - 800 .
A gold cross pendant formed of four flat arms radiating from a central circular setting, composed of hammered sheet gold. The obverse is embellished with granulated-style punched decoration along the arms. At the centre is a multi-layered agate cabochon, domed and polished, showcasing concentric bands in dark brown, grey and white, set within a raised circular bezel. The suspension loop is cylindrical, adorned with an applied gold filigree scroll motif. The reverse is undecorated, the construction is hollow and lightweight.
