拍品描述:
PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE NEW YORK COLLECTION
紐約私人收藏
Album after Song and Yuan Masters, 1698
Ten leaves, each ink and color on paper, each leaf inscribed by the artist with one, two, or three of his seals, the final leaf dated
wuyin, and signed
Shiguzi Wang Hui, the first and last leaf each with three collector's seals of He Shaoji (1799-1873), Prince Gong Yixin (1833-1898) and Gao Shiyi (late 19th-early 20th century).
10 5/8 x 7 3/4in (27 X 19.7cm)

Collection of He Shaoji (1799-1873)
Collection of Prince Gong Yixin (1833-1898)
Collection of Gao Shiyi (late 19th-early 20th century)
Acquired in Hong Kong prior to 2000, thereafter by descent.
The seal impression Daozhou He Shaoji zhencang yin 道州何紹基珍藏印 on the present lot corresponds with the original seal now in the collection of Suzhou Museum (fig.1).
The three collector's seals of Prince Gong Yixin can be compared to those on masterpieces in major institutional collections. For example, the Night-Shining White by Han Gan (ca. 742-756) in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, bears the seals Zhengyi Shuwu zhencang tushu 正誼書屋珍藏圖書 and Jizetang zhencang yin 繼澤堂珍藏印. The handscroll Hundred Sons in an Everlasting Spring by Su Hanchen (1101-1161), in the collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei (accession no. 故畫00145300000), is impressed with the seal Qingyitang 慶宜堂.
The seal Shangtong xiaoyin belonged to Gao Shiyi, a late Qing bibliophile, style name Shangtong, courtesy name Deqi, and sobriquet Niantao. A native of Huayang (present-day Chengdu, Sichuan Province), he served as magistrate of Fucheng, and amassed an extensive library, with a focus on Ming dynasty printed editions. His seal Shangtong xiaoyin can be found, for instance, on the final leaf of Zhong Shuo Kao 中說考 in the collection of the National Central Library, Taipei (accession no. 301 05434).
