Born in Crediton, Devon, the British landscape painter William Traies has works in public collections including the V&A and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum. He is remembered for his idyllic representations of Devonshire landscapes, spanning the course of his seventy-year career, first showing at the Royal Academy in 1817.
