this exquisite early work was made while the artist was studying at the Slade, alongside Euan Uglow, Victor Willing and Paula Rego, and another still life composition from this era, 'White Jug with Horseshoe, 1952', is now in the UCL Art Museum collection, having been presented by fellow artist Patrick George.
