Note:
Leese was a friend of Jessica Dismorr and her structural approach to this coastal scene is highly reminiscent of her work and that of Catherine Giles's from the interwar period. Leese studied with Max Bohm and illustrated works by authors including George Sands and Daniel Defoe.
