A PEACOCK BLUE GLAZED VASE
Dimensions: Width 16.6 cm (6.54 in) x Height 21.1 cm (8.31 in). All measurements are approximate.
The vase is of 'biqi' form, with a full, rounded body and gracefully tapering neck, covered overall in a rich, lustrous peacock-blue glaze. The glaze is evenly applied, exhibiting a smooth and glossy surface. The base is white-glazed and unmarked. The elegant form and vibrant glaze exemplify the refined aesthetic of Qing dynasty monochrome porcelains.
Provenance: Dating approximately from the Republic period to the 1980s, an antique shop in Manhattan, New York, primarily dealing in Chinese antiques.
