拍品描述:
A BRONZE TRIPOD RITUAL WINE VESSEL (JIA) WITH TAOTIE MASK
Dimensions: Weight: 2450.0 g. Length 17.6 cm (6.93 in) x Width 18.0 cm (7.09 in) x Height 29.5 cm (11.61 in). All measurements are approximate.
The vessel is cast with a deep U-shaped body rising from three blade-shaped legs to a wide flared rim, the neck surmounted by a pair of capped posts. The body is crisply cast with two broad taotie masks in relief against a leiwen ground, divided by plain flanges, the lower section encircled by a band of descending cicada blades. The bronze surface exhibits malachite and cuprite encrustations with areas of smooth patination, consistent with age. The interior bears a cast clan mark within a square panel.
