A large George IV silver salver.

London, 1825.
Of shaped, circular form, the shell and scroll border framing a flat chased base with two presentation inscriptions to centre, the earlier engraving reading 'Presented to William Tyler Esq., proprietor of the Royal Surrey Zoological Gardens, by the artists engaged in the establishment, as a testimonial of their high sense of his generous and gentlemanly conduct to every person under his employ. October 4th 1845', the salver raised on four bracket feet including a later foot with Victorian marks for Daniel & Charles Houle, complete with wooden box and stand, the box including key, salver 50.6cm dia., approx. weight 74.5ozt
