A Yellow-Ground Blue and White 'Lotus Bouquet' Moonflask (25.6 x 13.7 x 35.5cm) Paul Singer was a devoted collector of Chinese art and archaeological objects. Born in Hungary in 1904 and raised in Austria, he was a psychiatrist by profession. He began collecting East Asian art at the age of seventeen. After immigrating to the United States in 1939, he started acquiring Asian artworks on a large scale, sourcing them from antique dealers, auction houses, and secondhand shops across Europe and the United States.He passed away in 1997, leaving behind a collection of nearly 5,000 pieces, the vast majority of which were Chinese artworks.
