Vishnu assumes his avatar in the form of a man-lion (Narasimha) and emerges from a stone pillar to disembowel the demon Hiranyakashipu in order to restore order to the universe; before him a devotee (the Prince Prahlada) with folded hands and his fleeing mother. Opaque pigments on paper. Verso stamp ”Raja of Raghogarh Madhya Pradesh”.
