Noé Martínez Flores's work focuses on the analysis and investigation of the indigenous world- view in the family context tackling it from different points of view that are based on an interdisciplinary study. This activity produces an archive with audiovisual, graphic, historical and ethnographic information that is used as a platform for collaboration and the creation of a personal work.
Noé Martínez Flores (Morelia, Michoacán, 1986) received his master’s degree at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado (ENPEG) “La Esmeralda”. He was a beneficiary of the Jóvenes Creadores scholarship of the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA) and he currently serves on the Programa Bancomer Museo de Arte Carillo Gil Arte Actual and is the recipient of the Adidas Border scholarship. With the artist María Sosa, he founded in 2012 the El Gran Cristal exhibition platform.
He has participated in group exhibitions in Mexico at the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo (2014), the Casa de Lago Juan José Arreola (2012 and 2014), the Museo Universitario de Ciencias y Artes MUCA Roma (2012), the Centro Cultural Border (2011), the Museo de Arte Moderno (2010), the Festival internacional Cervantino de Guanajuato (2010) and abroad at the HEAD, Geneva University of Art and Design (Geneva, 2014) and the Kunstquartier Bethanien Art Center (Berlin, 2013).
