A CHINESE GREEN-ENAMELLED BLUE-GROUND 'DRAGON' BOWL Qing Dynasty, Qianlong mark and of the period 清乾隆 青花地綠彩趕珠雲龍紋盌 青花《大清乾隆年製》篆書款 Well-potted with curved sides rising from a short foot to a gently everted rim, painted around the exterior in apple-green enamels to depict a pair of five-clawed dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls amidst swirling clouds, all against a dense ground of multi-toned blue waves, the interior with a circular cartouche enclosing a solitary dragon, inscribed to the base with a six-character Qianlong seal mark in underglaze-blue 14.7cm diameter - NOTE: There a several examples of Kangxi-marked bowls with this same design, see Bonhams New Bond Street, 2 November 2023, lot 151; Sotheby's New York, 23 September 2020, lot 560; Christie's Hong Kong, 1 Jun 2011, lot 3511. For a Qianlong period bowl with a similar design, although with additional red decoration, was sold at Dreweatts, 8 Nov 2023, lot 35 (price realised £4,000). A comparable to this bowl was sold at Sotheby's New Bond Street, lot 79, 7th November 2012.
