A sandstone relief of Buddha’s foot prints (Buddhapada), Southern India, 12th century,
of rectangular form, 37cm wide
Provenance - London private collection, formed between early 1940's-1972
Typical natural and carving imperfections. Previously broken into three pieces and restored, leaving a faint ‘Y’ join visible. Several typical old and shallow losses to the edges. Bottom edge has one deep scratch,
