A sandstone Ekamukha Shiva Linga and Yoni, Northwest India, 7th/8th century A.D.,
the Linga with the face of Shiva, fangs bird and with third eye, the hair in a topknot with locks swept behind the ears, the wasted square in form, mottled stone throughout, 22cm high
Provenance - London private collection, formed between early 1940s-1972
Typical natural and carving imperfections. Several chips to the base, particularly the base rim. Many scuffs and scratches throughout. Some shallow losses to the upright carving.
