A Japanese gold lacquer ‘landscape’ box, tray and cover, 19th century,
decorated with buildings in a mountainous river landscape with pine and prunus, with matching internal tray, 19.5cm wide, damage
The cover has a large split to one corner where the side is pulling away slightly with some chip losses around the area and several other splinter chips to the edge of the cover and the split on the second corner, the tray has a split and small loss to the top left corner and the box base has a few splinter strips on the leading edge of the flange otherwise in reasonable condition.
