A Japanese Satsuma square bowl, signed Ryozan, Meiji period,
the exterior finely painted with figures in landscapes, birds and foliage within brocade pattern borders, the interior with a dragon within a scrolling surround, with flower and ribbon-tied object panelled borders, sixteen character mark to the base, 12.5cm high, width 19.5cm, restoration to foot
Gilt rubbed to rims of basket, quite heavily in places. Restoration to three foot corners. No hairlines or repairs to body. Typical surface crazing
