rectangular, walnut with the front, lid and sides inlaid with intarsia patterns in boxwood and bone, the front adorned with three square panels decorated with cruciate forms, the centre square with a geometric stellate design, the flanking squares with eight-pointed star motifs surrounding by smaller stellate patterns, the squares separated by fronded plants and six-pointed flowers emanating from hexagonal plant pots. The sides decorated with a series of concentric patterns centring on a hexagonal form, with concentric semicircles pointed with six pointed flowers, the lid decorated with a near-identical motif with a chequerboard square as the central visual component
