Case: 18 K white gold, screwed on sapphire glass back, correction button to adjust the date on the left side of the case at 10 o’clock position.

Reference 101.039 is part of the legendary LANGE 1 range which has been regarded as the brand’s flagship product range since I was launched in 1994. The asymmetric dial layout with off-centre time display and big date creates a perfect visual harmony and at the same time ensures perfect readability because none of the displays overlap –an aesthetic masterpiece which lets the watch stand out among its peers. The LANGE 1, ref. 101.039, became part of the A. Lange & Söhne range in 2009 and was only removed from the catalogue in 2015, when the latest generation of the LANGE 1 was officially launched. Reference 101.039 comes in a white gold case and features a tone in tone silver dial with luminous elements such as the hour and minute hands. The watch is powered by the famous hand-wound manufactory calibre L901.0 with twin barrels and an impressive 72-hour power reserve. The sapphire crystal back reveals the ¾ nickel silver plate, the hand-engraved balance cock and the screwed gold chatons – each and every detail is proof of supreme craftsmanship.
