Sheree Hovsepian (b. 1974, Isfahan, Iran) earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2002, a dual BFA/BA from the University of Toledo in 1999, and studied at the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland in 1998. Hovsepian’s recent solo and two-person exhibitions have been organized by Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York, NY; Halsey McKay Gallery, East Hampton, NY; Higher Pictures Gallery, New York, NY; Team Bungalow, Los Angeles, CA; and Monique Meloche Gallery, Chicago, IL. She was included in 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, The Milk of Dreams, curated by Cecilia Alemani, with a whole room dedicated to her work. Recent group exhibitions include Nicola Vassel, New York, NY; James Fuentes, New York, NY; the Shah Gang Foundation, New York, NY; Nicole Klagsbrun, New York, NY; Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, NY; The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, Israel; International Center of Photography, New York, NY; Hauser & Wirth, Southampton, NY; Half Gallery, New York; CHART Gallery, New York, NY; Stony Island Arts Bank, Chicago; and The Drawing Center, New York, NY. Hovsepian is in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Bronx Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Studio Museum in Harlem, among others. She currently lives and works in New York City.
