Late 16th to early 17th century
The lip-edged top of standard mitre, mortise, and tenon construction, with a two-board, flush, floating panel supported by two dovetailed transverse stretchers, the short sides of the frame top with exposed tenons, moulding gently downward and ending in a narrow band, the recessed waist and the curvilinear, beaded-edged apron, superbly carved with scrolling foliage, made of one piece of wood and mitred, mortised, and tenoned to the elegantly shaped cabriole legs.
