Deftly carved and hollowed with four straight sides and canted edges, supported on four bracket feet, decorated in gilt on the faces with a scholar reading a book in a pavilion, a farmer ploughing with a an ox, two woodcutters carrying bundles of wood across a bridge, and a fishermen using a lift net, each with its own poem in
kaishu calligraphy, the stone of grey-green tone with white flecks cleverly incorporated into the landscape design to suggest clouds and rocks.
