The “Milsub” reference 5513 adapts to military needs, featuring fixed bar lugs for durability and large “sword” shaped hands for legibility. An encircled “T” can also be found at 6 o’clock on the dial, indicating that Tritium is used on the lumes. The movement features a hacking mechanism, once the crown is pulled out, the second hand comes to a stop, allowing time to be set at a surgical precision. Turning to the case back, it is engraved with the military arrow sign and a set of numbers ready to be deciphered. 0552 would represent the British Ministry of Defense, 923-7697 would represent the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, 454 as the issuing number and 76 as the issuing year. The present example is highly attractive and retains thick proportions on the case, while the lumes have cultured to a warm ivory colour. According to research, the watch was supplied to Her Majesty's Dockyard Portsmouth, on 11 March 1976.
