A set of ten Chinese famille rose 'nesting' cups
Qing dynasty, Daoguang period
Each cup enamelled around the exterior with a salient narrative scene from the famous novel 'Mudan Ting' and a flower to the interior, the smallest cup only enamelled to the interior, 11cm - 4.5cm diameter (10).
清道光 粉彩繪牡丹亭故事圖紋套杯
Middle bowl (fifth) broken off in five parts, with traces of old glue, apparently all parts extant. At least one bowl (third largest) with long rim hairline.
