Arabic manuscript on paper, 129 leaves plus 4 flyleaves, 19 lines to the page, written in neat black naskh, surah headings in gold within polychrome panels, verses separated by pointed segmented roundels, catchwords, illuminated marginal devices and surah commentaries in shikasteh script, dedicatory roundel to f.1a, ff.1b-3b comprising two double page illuminated frontispieces in colours and gold, double-page finispiece at end, floral lacquer binding, with maroon slip-case

Surviving manuscripts copied by Muhammad 'Ali Isfahani are dated between 1778-89 and 1819-20 (Bayani 1358 sh., pp.177-8). The text in the illuminated roundel is signed by the late nineteenth century scribe Ghulam 'Ali al-Na'ini. It records that the manuscript was dedicated to the library of Munir al-Saltaneh. Munir al-Saltaneh was known for her charitable donations and was one of Nasir al-Din Shah's wives and mother to Kamran Mirza Nayib al-Saltaneh.
