A RARE CIZHOU-TYPE WHITE-GLAZED LOBED EWER
Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127)
北宋 磁州窯系白釉瓜形執壺
Property from the Walter Hochstadter Collection. A rare white-glazed lobed Ewer, Northern Song Dynasty. The body is potted with six vertical lobes. Strap handle, straight ring foot and with a long, curving spout. The ewer is covered with a white slip under a transparent glaze that ends above the foot, exposing the grey earth.
14 cm diameter, 29.5 cm high.
