Cast Xuande six-character mark, early Qing Dynasty
Of compressed globular form, cast to the front and back with a pair of confronting
chilong chasing a pearl, flanked by a pair of upright
chilong handles, all supported on three short tapering feet decorated with
ruyi-heads, the domed cover elaborately cast in openwork with a wide band of stylish
chilong, surmounted by a finial in the form of a coiled
chilong, the base cast with a reign mark within a rectangular frame, fitted box.
Overall 19cm (7 1/2 in) high (2).
