Saint Jerome Adoring the Crucifix
Oil on canvas
41 3/4 x 28 inches (106 x 71.2 cm)
Frame 49 5/8 x 35 7/8 inches (126 x 91.2 cm)
Glue relined. This work appears to have been in the process of preparation for restoration. There is a long (8 1/2 inches) horizontal repaired tear running across Saint Jerome's upper body, with attendant losses. Several smaller horizontal repaired tears in the saint's cloak in the lower right quadrant. Losses along the right edge. Some old restoration in the upper register. Some shadows and contours reinforced.
